Every item is hand- cut and hand-made by a master craftsman at our Castleford premises to the client’s individual pattern. All my bespoke suits are handmade to your precise requirements to create a garment that is uniquely tailored to you.

Jackets

Today the use of coat, jacket, sports jacket and blazer have become almost interchangeable. The key differences are that the suit jacket has matching trousers and possibly a waistcoat. A bespoke sports jacket usually has a patterned cloth and horn buttons. While a bespoke blazer is crafted from plain fabric with contrasting, usually metal buttons.

High street brands may look good on the shelf but are not designed to fit your exact measurements. They are mass produced, which results in poorer construction methods, enabling speed and reproduction. But minimising craftsmanship and durability. The do not fit as well, or last as long.

Jackets

For a tropical holiday abroad (Or the rare hot days here in the U.K.) Desmond might suggest making up a lightweight single-breasted jacket in a pale colour. Jackets cut in a tropical-weight wool, silk and linen blend cloth, or a more open weave travel cloth such as Fresco. For something more luxurious, Bamboo or wool and cashmere blends are perfect. All cloths are available in beautiful colours and patterns.

At the other end of the spectrum, thornproof tweeds and naturally water-resistant overcoating. Warming woollen flannels and high-twist worsteds can all be brought to bear on the winds and rains of even the harshest of winters.

Now, the question arises as to what exactly a fresco fabric is and why it wears so cool ? Fresco is generally made of multiple yarn, high twisted wool and has a plain weave. The high twist allows for an open weave, which makes the fabric very airy in the sense that you can feel any breeze. Also, due to its high twist, it has a rather coarse feel to it and a rather hard touch.
